Text | This very simple folding allows you to measure a good variety of angles, provided you know how to use it!
1. Hold the square sheet in a horizontal position. 2. Bring, using a valley fold from top to bottom, the upper edge to the lower edge. Unfold. 3. Flip the sheet from right to left. The horizontal median is marked by a mountain fold. 4. Bring, via a valley fold starting from the upper left summit, the upper right summit to the median horizontal mountain fold. This fold is quite difficult to achieve precisely. We obtain a flap which is a right triangle having an angle of 15° and an angle of 75°. 5. Bring, via a valley fold starting from the upper left summit, the lower left summit to the median horizontal mountain fold. The left side comes along the long side of the right angle of the resulting right triangle in step 4. We obtain a flap which is a right triangle having an angle of 30° and an angle of 60°. 6. Fold, using a valley fold based on the line formed by the short sides of the two right triangular flaps, the right triangle having the lower right corner as its apex. |
