Text | This square will be very quickly constructed from an A4 format sheet.
1. Take a sheet of A4 paper, hold it in a horizontal position. 2. Bring, using a valley fold at 45° from top to bottom, the left edge of the rectangle to the lower edge. We obtain a rectangular trapezoid whose tip, oriented towards the left, carries a triangular flap. The right part forms a vertical rectangle of single thickness. 3. Bring, using a valley fold at 45° from right to left, the upper edge of the single-thickness rectangle along the vertical edge of the triangular flap. 4. Bring, using a valley fold at 45° from right to left, the lower edge of the single-thickness rectangle along the vertical edge of the triangular flap. We now have a 5-sided polygon, equipped with a large triangular flap carried by a large point located on the left. This triangular flap is vertical. 5. Bring, by a valley fold from bottom to top and from left to right, the lower left vertex of the point on the upper vertex of the large triangular flap. We now have a triangular part forming a pocket. To the right of the triangular flap is a 4-sided polygon whose longest edge is adjacent to the vertical edge of the triangular part. 6. Fold the right part of the fold to the left using a valley fold along the vertical edge of the triangular part. Unfold. 7. Slide the flap that you have just folded into the triangular pocket. |
