Text | Some models created from a square sheet lend themselves well to folding from regular
polygons such as the equilateral triangle, the pentagon, the hexagon and the octagon
(these shapes are chosen because of the simplicity of the methods of obtaining ).
If we fold the diagonals (folds joining two opposite vertices) in a valley and the medians (folds joining the middle of two opposite sides) in a mountain, we can close the sheet of paper in the general shape of a triangle (equivalent to the base of the water bomb) or in the form of a quadrilateral (equivalent to the preliminary base). We can thus decline the same shape in a series of folds with a triangular, square, pentagonal, hexagonal or octagonal base. Not all folds lend themselves to this game. We can try: - the flower vase, - the iris, - the eyelet, - the surprise vase. The folder will be interested in the changes in shape or size of the different appendages when moving to the higher order polygon. Happy folding! |
