Text | This folding uses the fan folding technique. The result is very nice.
1. Present the sheet in the diamond position. 2. Fold into a valley along the vertical diagonal (bring the left vertex to the right vertex). Unfold. 3. Fold into a valley from bottom to top along the horizontal diagonal. We obtain a triangle point at the top, formed of two flaps linked by a lower hinge edge. 4. Locate the middle of the hinge edge. 5. Create a valley fold by bringing the top of the front flap from top to bottom over the middle of the hinge fold. We thus obtain a horizontal upper hinge fold. 6. Bring the horizontal hinge fold over the bottom hinge fold. Mark the fold well. 7. Repeat the operation of step 6 with the upper hinge fold that you have just constructed. Thicknesses increase. 8. Repeat the operation of step 6 one last time with the upper hinge fold that you have just constructed. 9. Fully unfold the tip to return to the initial state. The previous operations made it possible to divide the tip into 16 horizontal bands of the same height. 10. Use the first horizontal downward fold mark to valley fold the front triangular flap downwards. 11. Use the first horizontal fold mark again to valley fold the front triangular flap upwards. 12. Fold alternately downwards then upwards, leaning on the successive fold marks, and going up towards the top, to make an accordion fold of the tip. The upper flap is now replaced by a strip of variable thickness, very thick in the center. 13. Flip the fold from right to left. 14. Bring the left and right points of the rear flap together, which has the effect of transforming the rear strip into a fan. This fan is located perpendicular to the triangular flap that has just been formed. 15. Create a valley fold by bringing the right edge of the triangle over the left edge, pivoting around the top vertex. The right side of the starting triangle lines up with the back of the fan. The initial triangle is transformed into an elongated triangle having a long left side resting along the fan, a long right side starting from the top of the fan and a short right side starting from the bottom of the fan. 16. Create a valley fold by bringing the short right edge of the triangle over the left edge from right to left. We obtain a new triangle that is even more tapered than the previous one. 17. Create a valley fold by bringing the lower right edge of the triangle to the left edge from right to left. We obtain a new triangle that is even more tapered than the previous one. 18. Repeat the operation two more times, to obtain a very tapered triangle: the stem of the Brooch. 19. Fold this rod at the height of the meeting point with the fan to block it. |
