Text Pretty flower, requiring a good helping hand to be successful.

Make a blintz base

1. Take a square sheet of paper, hold it in a horizontal position.

2. Form a valley fold by bringing the right edge to the left edge from right to left.
We obtain a vertical rectangle comprising two free rectangular flaps linked by a hinge fold located on the right.

3. Form a 45° valley fold by bringing, from top to bottom to the right, the upper left apex of the front flap over the hinge fold, ensuring that the upper edge of the front flap is placed along the hinge edge.

4. Form a 45° valley fold by bringing, from bottom to top to the right, the lower left apex of the front flap over the hinge fold, ensuring that the lower edge of the front flap is placed along the hinge edge.
The initial rectangular flap is now transformed into a triangular flap carrying two small triangular flaps which are edge to edge.

5. Flip the fold from right to left.

6. Form a 45° valley fold by bringing, from top to bottom to the left, the upper left apex of the front flap over the hinge fold, ensuring that the upper edge of the front flap is placed along the hinge edge.

7. Form a 45° valley fold by bringing, from bottom to top to the left, the lower left apex of the front flap over the hinge fold, ensuring that the lower edge of the front flap is placed along the hinge edge.
We now have a triangular shape of quadruple thickness, composed of two flaps linked by a vertical hinge fold located on the left. These two flaps each carry two triangular flaps.

8. Open the fold using the hinge edge and leaving the small triangular flaps in place.
The result is the blintz base.Double the blintz base to make a double blintz base.

9. Flip the folding from right to left, hold it in a horizontal position.

10. Form a valley fold by bringing the right edge to the left edge from right to left.

11. Form a 45° valley fold by bringing, from top to bottom to the right, the upper left apex of the front flap over the hinge fold, ensuring that the upper edge of the front flap is placed along the hinge edge.

12. Form a 45° valley fold by bringing, from bottom to top to the right, the lower left apex of the front flap over the hinge fold, ensuring that the lower edge of the front flap is placed along the hinge edge.

13. Flip the fold from right to left.

14. Form a 45° valley fold by bringing, from top to bottom to the left, the upper left apex of the front flap over the hinge fold, ensuring that the upper edge of the front flap is placed along the hinge edge.

15. Form a 45° valley fold by bringing, from bottom to top to the left, the lower left apex of the front flap over the hinge fold, ensuring that the lower edge of the front flap is placed along the hinge edge.

16. Open the fold using the hinge edge and leaving the small triangular flaps in place. Double the double blintz base to make a triple blintz base
Caution: do not turn the folding over before continuing.

17. Form a valley fold by bringing the right edge to the left edge from right to left.

18. Form a 45° valley fold by bringing, from top to bottom to the right, the upper left apex of the front flap over the hinge fold, ensuring that the upper edge of the front flap is placed along the hinge edge.

19. Form a 45° valley fold by bringing, from bottom to top to the right, the lower left apex of the front flap over the hinge fold, ensuring that the lower edge of the front flap is placed along the hinge edge.

20. Flip the fold from right to left.

21. Form a 45° valley fold by bringing, from top to bottom to the left, the upper left apex of the front flap over the hinge fold, ensuring that the upper edge of the front flap is placed along the hinge edge.

22. Form a 45° valley fold by bringing, from bottom to top to the left, the lower left apex of the front flap over the hinge fold, ensuring that the lower edge of the front flap is placed along the hinge edge.
We have a square shape with four very thick triangular flaps meeting in the center. The flaps are separated by a space.

Create the petals

23. Fold the upper left corner over the space separating the two flaps arriving at this corner via a valley fold located a short distance from the top. Mark the fold well.
There is no reference point, only habit dictates this distance.

24. Fold the upper right corner over the space separating the two flaps arriving at this corner via a valley fold located a short distance from the top. Mark the fold well.

25. Fold the lower left corner over the space separating the two flaps arriving at this corner via a valley fold located a short distance from the top. Mark the fold well.

26. Fold the lower right corner over the space separating the two flaps arriving at this corner via a valley fold located a short distance from the top. Mark the fold well.
We now have an octagonal shape. At the front, four small triangular flaps form four sides, while in the center four other flaps meet. At the rear are four triangular flaps of double thickness.

27. Turn the upper left rear flap over like a glove, so that it covers the small triangular flap that borders it.
This is a very delicate passage, the paper tends to tear. To avoid tearing, you must open the fold slightly so that the sides of the flap to be brought back pass forward. The result is three-dimensional.

28. Turn the upper right rear flap over like a glove, so that it covers the small triangular flap that borders it.

29. Turn the lower left rear flap over like a glove, so that it covers the small triangular flap that borders it.
30. Flip the lower right rear flap like a glove, so that it covers the small triangular flap that borders it.
We now have four petals in 3 dimensions. The reversals that we have just carried out have revealed, at the rear, four single-thickness flaps.

31. Bring the upper left rear flap as far forward as possible.
The tip is placed between two previously returned flaps. You can try to turn the flap slightly, but with the greatest precautions.

32. Bring the upper right rear flap as far forward as possible.

33. Bring the lower left rear flap as far forward as possible.

34. Bring the lower right rear flap as far forward as possible.

35. Raise the four flaps which meet in the center vertically outwards.
Here is a flower with 12 petals which is reminiscent of a waterlily or a lotus. All that remains is to try with different varieties of paper and choose the colors carefully.
