Text | This mushroom, of great technical simplicity, allows you to give free rein to your imagination and create multiple shapes.
1. Start with a crumpled base. Hold the closed tip upwards. 2. Crumple and firmly tighten the lower part of the tube intended to form the base of the mushroom. Mark the top of this part clearly. There is no reference point, the length being given by the mushroom that we want to form: long stem or short stem. The upper part, closed, will form the hat. Work the stem to form the foot (very thin or swollen), or add a volva. V. Floderer, for elaborate folds, recommends lightly wetting the future stem after crumpling, and tightening it strongly (respecting the volumes or details that have been created). Once dried, the stem will be more rigid. 3. Turn the closed umbrella part around the stem. Shape the hat. During this turning operation, the closed part surrounds the upper rod. You must not crease. There is no reference point. It all depends on the shape you want to simulate: large flat umbrella of an amanita, more inflated cap of a bolete, elongated head of a coprin or morel. The mushroom is finished. Try different shapes and types of paper. Fill a basket with your folds. You can have abundant pickings in any season! |
