Text A simple little boat, but requiring attention.

1. Create a valley fold on the horizontal median. Unfold.
This fold will serve as a reference later.

2. Rotate the fold so that the fold on the middle is vertical.
We want the next fold to be the second median.

3. Prepare a 4-band accordion by folding the two free rectangular flaps in two, bringing their long edge onto the hinge fold. Open it and place it flat in a horizontal position, with the two flaps free on top.
We have a shape composed of a rectangular flap bordered by two hinged folds which each link a rectangular flap. These two rectangular flaps are joined, and are separated by a slot. Create two points.

4. Create, through all the layers, a 45° oblique valley fold by bringing the upper edge of the upper left corner of the rectangle over the slit. To mark.

5 Create, through all the thicknesses, a 45° oblique valley fold by bringing the upper edge of the lower left corner of the rectangle over the slit. To mark.

6. Create, through all the thicknesses, a 45° oblique valley fold by bringing the upper edge of the upper right corner of the rectangle over the slit. To mark.

7. Create, through all the thicknesses, a 45° oblique valley fold by bringing the upper edge of the lower right corner of the rectangle over the slit. To mark.
We obtain a hexagonal shape with a large point on the left and a large point on the right. Refine both tips.

8. Create, through all the layers, an oblique valley fold by bringing the upper edge of the left tip over the slit. To mark.
In the rest, be careful to hold the paper in place when folding.

9. Create, through all layers, an oblique valley fold by bringing the lower edge of the left tip over the slit. To mark.

10. Create, through all layers, an oblique valley fold by bringing the upper edge of the straight tip over the slit. To mark.
There will be a slight overlap with the flap coming from the left tip.

11. Create, through all layers, an oblique valley fold by bringing the lower edge of the straight tip over the slit. To mark.
We have a very tapered diamond. A vertical fold joins the two upper and lower vertices of the diamond.

12. Bring, by a valley fold from top to bottom, the upper vertex of the diamond to the point of intersection between the vertical fold and the horizontal slit.

13. Bring, using a valley fold from bottom to top, the lower apex of the diamond to the point of intersection between the vertical fold and the horizontal slit.
We obtain an elongated hexagonal shape. On the horizontal axis of this shape is a slot.

14. Open gently by turning the two edges along the slot outwards.
You have to start in the middle. Work carefully, otherwise the paper will tear. The result is a pretty boat.
