Base Crumpled
Text This base uses the paper crumpling technique. It allows you to create folding styles that are both innovative and very particular. Its principle is very simple.

1. Locate the center of the square or rectangle.

2. Pinch the center of the square and lift the leaf so that it falls, forming a sort of open tube at the bottom. If it is two-tone, put the main color on it.

3. Hold the top with one hand and slide the other hand up and down the tube, squeezing quite firmly.
Be careful not to pull too hard (the paper will tear) and to go down straight (no twisting).

4. Repeat sliding up and down several times in succession. Wrinkles form throughout the tube.

5. By turning the tube over (opening upwards), release the different layers of paper to completely open the sheet. Turn it over like you turn an umbrella.

6. Take the top with one hand, and repeat the creasing operation several times from top to bottom.
The folds along the tube are getting tighter and tighter.

7. Repeat the operations of turning the sheet and creasing as many times as you want, until you consider that the degree of creasing is sufficient.
We obtain a kind of elongated tube, with a closed tip-shaped end and an open end formed by four flaps. A large number of more or less parallel folds run from the tip to the bottom of the tube.
