Text | It is a base that allows you to have four flaps. It allows you to go directly to the base of the waterbomb by simply inverting it. It also allows, with the help of a few additional folds, to derive the base of the bird and the base of the frog. 1. Take a square sheet, hold it in a horizontal position. If it is two-tone, put the main color underneath. Mark the medians 2. Form a valley fold by bringing the right edge to the left edge from right to left. Mark the fold. Unfold. 3. Form a valley fold by bringing the top edge down to the bottom edge. Mark the fold. Unfold. Mark the diagonals 4. Flip the fold from right to left, put it in the diamond position. It is very important to turn the sheet over, so that the medians are in the mountains and the diagonals are in the valley. The final folding is then very simple. 5. Form a valley fold by bringing the right middle vertex to the left middle vertex from right to left. Mark the fold. Unfold. 6. Form a valley fold by bringing the upper peak over the lower peak from top to bottom. Mark the fold. Do not unfold. We obtain a triangular shape composed of two triangular flaps linked by a hinge edge. 7. Orient the fold horizontally, with the hinge edge at the top. 8. Grasp the left and right tips between the thumbs and index fingers of both hands. Push symmetrically downwards, the shape opens, revealing four triangular flaps of double thickness. Go to the end of the push. There is then a flap directed towards you, another directed towards the back and two other flaps on either side of the previous ones. 9. Tilt the flap facing you to the left, hold it against the left flap. 10. Tilt the flap that goes backwards to the right, hold it against the right flap. We now have a triangular shape, characteristic of the waterbomb. Now just turn the fold over like an umbrella to obtain the preliminary base. 11. Open the fold and place it on the open left hand, the central point upwards. 12. Block the tip by placing a finger of the right hand on it, and push the left hand upwards until the fold turns over like an umbrella. The preliminary base is ready. We now have a square shape with four free points downwards and one closed point upwards connecting the other 4. To get the waterbomb base, simply open the preliminary base ajar and turn it over like an umbrella by pressing the tip closed. By folding the flaps, we then see the characteristic triangular shape of the base of the waterbomb appear again. |
