Text This folding is somewhat magical. It is two-dimensional until the very last stage when, upon blowing into it, it suddenly becomes three-dimensional.
1. Start at one base of the water bomb, hold it with the tip of the triangle facing up.

2. Raise the left front flap vertically to locate the central axis.

3. Form a valley fold by bringing the lower right apex of the right front flap from right to left and upwards onto the apex of the triangular shape. Mark the fold well.
The lower right part of the front flap aligns along the line marked by the bottom of the raised flap. Pay close attention to the fold that forms at the bottom at the level of the raised flap.

4. Form a valley fold by bringing the lower left apex of the left front flap from left to right and upwards onto the apex of the triangular shape. Mark the fold well.
The lower left part of the front flap aligns itself along the line marked by the flap folded in the previous step. Pay close attention to the fold that forms at the bottom at the level of the raised flap.

5. Flip the fold from right to left.

6. Form a valley fold by bringing the lower right apex of the right front flap from right to left and upwards onto the apex of the triangular shape. Mark the fold well.
You can help yourself with the lower right side of the right rear flap. The lower right part of the front flap aligns along the line marked by the bottom of the raised flap. Pay close attention to the fold that forms at the bottom at the level of the raised flap.

7. Form a valley fold by bringing the lower left apex of the left front flap from left to right and upwards onto the apex of the triangular shape. Mark the fold well.
You can help yourself with the lower left side of the left rear flap. The lower left part of the front flap aligns itself along the line marked by the flap folded in the previous step. Pay close attention to the fold that forms at the bottom at the level of the raised flap.
The triangular shape has been transformed into a square shape arranged in a diamond shape.
There is a closed point at the bottom and at the top two sharp free points hiding a closed point which again hides two sharp free points.

8. Form a valley fold by bringing the upper right front point up and down over the lower point. Do not mark the fold except in the center of the square. Unfold.
We tried to locate the middle of the axis which passes through the upper and lower points of the diamond.

9. Form a valley fold by bringing the right tip of the right front flap from right to left to the midpoint that you have just identified. Strongly mark the fold.
This fold is made through four layers. It is therefore necessary to accompany him carefully when putting the tip in place.

10. Form a valley fold by bringing the left tip of the right front flap from left to right to the midpoint that you have just identified. Strongly mark the fold.
In practice, simply bring the left point opposite the right point folded in the previous step.

11. Flip the fold from left to right.

12. Apply the operations from step 8 to step 10 to the two triangular flaps.
In practice, simply use the vertical edges of the previous folds to make the task easier.
We ultimately obtain a shape with six sides, two of which are vertical, with a closed point at the bottom and two sharp free points at the top hiding a closed point which again hides two sharp free points. The shape is made up of four flaps, each of which carries an extra thickness of a triangular shape having a vertical edge and a vertex turned towards the median axis.

13. Form a valley fold by bringing, as low as possible, the upper right point of the right front flap. The valley fold rests on the upper edge of the right excess triangle.
We obtain a triangle of double thickness which extends to the right of the six-sided shape. The bottom edge of the triangle is horizontal.

14. Form a valley fold by bringing from right to left the point which protrudes over the top of the triangle in extra thickness.
The hinge fold thus formed is vertical, aligned with the right vertical edge of the shape. We now have a small triangular flap of thickness 4 which pivots from bottom to top along the upper edge of the right excess triangle.

15. Slide the small triangular flap into the hidden pocket inside the extra-thickness triangle.
We start the operation again with the other three flaps.

16. Form a valley fold by bringing the upper left point of the left front flap as low as possible. The valley fold rests on the upper edge of the left excess triangle.
We obtain a triangle of double thickness which protrudes to the left of the six-sided shape. The bottom edge of the triangle is horizontal.

17. Form a valley fold by bringing from left to right the point which protrudes over the top of the triangle in extra thickness.
The hinge fold thus formed is vertical, aligned with the left vertical edge of the shape. We now have a small triangular flap of thickness 4 which pivots from bottom to top along the upper edge of the left triangle.

18. Slide the small triangular flap into the hidden pocket inside the extra-thickness triangle.

19. Return the fold.

20. Repeat the operations from step 13 to step 18 on the two front flaps.
We now have a shape with 6 sides, two of which are vertical. The two upper and lower points rest on these two vertical sides.

21. Bring the upper point down through a valley fold passing through the imaginary horizontal line which joins the two upper peaks on the two vertical sides. Unfold, fold in the mountains, then return to the valley, several times.

22. Bring the lower point upwards through a valley fold passing through the imaginary horizontal line which joins the two lower vertices on the two vertical sides. Unfold, fold in the mountains, then return to the valley, several times.

23. Locate the tip which has a hole in its center. Holding the fold without forcing, blow fairly strongly into the holed tip. The fold swells and turns into a cube.
It is the water bomb. Guess why this folding is named like that!
